Making a good impression

28 03 2012

We offer photographic and copy writing services to support small business and have a particular interest in working with owners of holiday accommodation.  We can also help with PR, publicity and marketing via social media.

What we can do for your business

27 03 2012

Photography

We are experienced travel and food photographers.  Richard is also experienced in commercial photography, including interiors, products and underwater photography.  We’re available for shoots on location, or can shoot products in the studio – and are happy to discuss sponsored blogs with potential clients for ethical products, food, home, pet and garden products.

Social media

We’re very active on social media sites, especially Twitter.  The Aspinall Ink Twitter account, www.twitter.com/Aspinall_Ink, has over1,000 followers; many of whom are happy to retweet links to interesting travel articles, which makes the impact of this small business surprisingly powerful.

Angie is the co-founder of #Yorkshirehoura virtual place but a real time to promote Yorkshire businesses, attracting hundreds of Twitter users each week.

Not just ordinary travel writers

Aspinall Ink offers a fresh approach to travel reviews with our relaxed approach to travel but a keen eye for detail  – and, we have the ability to savour pleasure from the simple things in life like a great sunset or a rare bird sighting.  From one trip, we can provide multiple tailored articles featuring high quality images for a range of magazines, e-zines and blogs to promote your destination or accommodation and we’re always happy to go that extra mile using social media to promote articles and clients’ websites.

We’re both professional photographers skilled in landscape and wildlife photography and we’re keen to promote holidays, farm stays, coastal retreats in the UK and eco-tourism opportunities and wildlife/marine conservation at home and abroad.  Aspinall Ink is keen to promote new destinations and accommodation and also happy to experience anything from ‘off the beaten track’ properties to high end spa retreats – and everything in between.

Aspinall Ink can provide photographs for you to use on your own website and/or promotional material.  Richard’s skill in photographing interiors is particularly advantageous in terms of promoting holiday accommodation, especially when coupled with Angie’s talent for ‘dressing’ rooms for photo shoots.

One trip – many reviews

As Aspinall Ink travel together, accommodation owners will get more articles in exchange for their hospitality, as we each write for different target audiences – but each with a higher than average disposable income.

Angie’s target audience, on the NFWI blog, is made up of the 210,000 members of the Women’s Institute.  On: Yorkshire’s website has visitors from all over the world, with interest in travel, arts and culture and averages 24,500 unique visitors a month. Richard’s international audience is mainly made up of members of the diving community or those interested in marine life and conservation, but his UK audience encompasses a much wider range of people, including those interested in wildlife and all aspects of travel.

Aspinall Ink is delighted to be working with Hills Balfour, the leading public relations and representation consultancy among UK travel PR agencies and travel PR companies.

We’re so pleased that our client Anthony Hartley’s doing so well. The media interest in his chairs ‘Mr Smith’ and ‘Mr Smith the second’ has coninued with rave reviews of the new range of drawers - ‘Edna’.  Richard’s photos of Anthony’s technicolour furniture have been featured on design websites all over the world and in a few UK magazines including ‘Elle Decoration’ and ‘Homes & Gardens’.  Anthony’s collection at the TENT London design exhibition in September has had a phenomenal amount of interest.  It couldn’t happen to a nicer man!  Congratulations Anthony!

Anthony Hartley – The one to watch

29 07 2011

If you’re looking for garden furniture this summer, why settle for something mass-produced when you can have something hand crafted by local furniture designer, Anthony Hartley?

Anthony makes each piece by hand from sustainable redwood pine or European, and will paint them the colour of your choice, and yet they cost around the same as the outdoor furniture found in many local garden centres.  His company, Tea-Pea.com produces a range of outdoor furniture including the popular ‘Adirondack’ garden chair, based on a traditional New England design.

Adirondack oak chair

For sheer style and beauty, an investment in the Oak chair and footstool will be appreciated for many years to come (£395 for chair and footstool).

Without a doubt, the most eye-catching of the range are the painted pinewood Adirondacks (available in natural, delicious ice-cream pastels or stylish traditional garden colours; £195 including your choice of colour).  The Adirondack chairs and benches are complemented by a range of more contemporary designs, unique to Tea-Pea.com.  From the elegant Cuban lounge chair (£75) to the stunning solid lines of the outdoor sofas and armchairs, these are pieces which bring a modern twist to any size of garden or balcony.

The usual response to the chairs is, “Wow, they’re gorgeous,” as people see them, and then, “Wow, I don’t want to get out of it,” once they try them out.

Anthony holds true to the old-fashioned belief that any furniture should be comfortable, stylish and made to last.  He says:

“Sadly, so much furniture nowadays seems to be made to be disposable; to be changed every year or two with your colour scheme or garden design.  Our resources are too precious for this throwaway approach, so I build from classic designs which can easily be update with a fresh coat of paint every few years, but which will happily live outdoors for many years with minimum maintenance.”

Tea-Pea.com is based in a spacious Victorian canal-side mill in Slathwaite, with stunning views across the local hillsides. Part of the mill complex is nowhome to an artisan bakery (which sells the most delicious bread I’ve ever tasted), while another part will shortly house a new vintage clothing outlet.

This summer, Anthony is busy preparing to launch a range of designer furniture at TENT London (part of the London Design Festival) this September. He’s being tipped as ‘the one to watch’ so, if you want to be ahead of the crowd, get your commissions in now before the rest of the world hears about this Yorkshire gem!

A traditional wedding

11 04 2010

The Aspinall’s headed off ‘down South’ this weekend to photograph a family wedding.

Congratulations to the Bride and Groom!

In terms of the photos, for me, the bridesmaids really stole the show!

I love the way the children were mainly oblivious to the whole ‘wedding thing’ that was taking place.
